Bewick's Best 4.5%
This classic ale is full-bodied with notes of sweetness from the crystal malt which also enhances the colour, alongside a touch of chocolate malt, to a copper hue. Of course, Bewick’s in the beer name comes from Cygnus columbianus bewickii, Bewick’s Swan. Bewick's swans were named for Thomas Bewick (1753-1828) wood engraver and naturalist. You can read more about the man described as Northumberland's greatest artist through the Bewick Society.
This classic bottled best bitter would be best enjoyed sitting in the dappled shade in your garden, watching the birds dart around in flight and landing on the branches.
HOPS: Challenger and Goldings.
GRAINS: Pale Maris Otter, crystal and chocolate malts; wheat.
