The QuickTide charts allow for quick and intuitive determination of tide times for a particular date and place.
These 2024/2025 QuickTides include new green “springtide dates”: (for date-predicting beach spaces or no spaces, estuary-flood-risks, bird watching, beach metal detecting etc).
Consult the tables to determine a date code shown on the front, consult the map on the front to determine the colour code for the coastal section you are interested in, turn the disk and align the date and colour code to get approximate tide time. There is no need to do calculations. The tidal predictions are derived from data computed by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory of the UK National Oceanography Centre. A table with important phone numbers such as emergency services, breakdown services and public transport is included.
This chart is useful for sailors, bird watchers, beach visitors, surfers, kite surfers, open-water swimmers, coastal walkers, canoeists, metal detectorists, photographers, anglers, caravaners, fossil collectors, campers, divers, mudlarks and any other visitors to Britain's coastal sites.
