Terms and conditions
WWT Shop purchase terms
These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the Terms and Conditions on which we supply products to you from our online shop.
Please read these terms carefully before you submit your order to us.
We may amend these from time to time, and the changes will take effect from the date we publish any amended terms. Any amended terms will not apply to orders that we have already accepted.
These terms do not apply to donations or other support, and only apply to purchases from the online shop. If you are interested in purchasing our products for business purposes, please get in touch with us at shop@wwt.org.uk.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
a) shop.wwt.org is a site operated by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) and its wholly owned trading subsidiary of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Trading Ltd (WWT Trading) (“We”). WWT is a charity registered in England and Wales under charity number 1030884 England and Wales, SC039410 Scotland and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales with company number 02882729. WWT Trading is a company registered in England and Wales under number 02541350. Both WWT and WWT Trading’s registered office is Slimbridge, Glos GL2 7BT. The VAT number for both companies is 618368028.

c) If we have to contact you we will do so by telephone or by writing to you at the email address or postal address you provided to us in your order.
2. Our products
Products may vary slightly from their pictures. The images of the products on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every effort to display the colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that a device’s display of the colours accurately reflects the colour of the products. Your product may vary slightly from those images.
Products may be unavailable. Where items are temporarily unavailable for any reason, this will be indicated on our website. Please note that we may withdraw items from sale in the event we run out of stock or for any other reason and we may do so at any time and without notice
3. Our contract with you
How we will accept your order. We accept your order when we email you your order confirmation, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us.
If we cannot accept your order. If we are unable to accept your order, we will inform you of this and will not charge you for the product. This might be because the product is out of stock, because we have identified an error in the price or description of the product, if payment has not been accepted or because we are unable to meet a delivery deadline you have specified.
International orders. We aim to ship parcels worldwide, wherever possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
There are restrictions on some Products for some International Delivery Destinations, so please review the information on that page carefully before ordering products.
Please also note that your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, applied when the delivery reaches that destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes and for complying with any laws relating to the import of your products. This will also apply to EU orders from 1st July 2021.
4. Price and payment
The price displayed on our website. The prices displayed on our website include VAT and are displayed in Pounds Sterling (£). We take all reasonable care to ensure that the price of the product advised to you is correct. However please see clause 4b for what happens if we discover an error in the price of the product you order.
What happens if we got the price wrong. We check prices regularly so that the product’s correct price is displayed at your order date, if our stated price at your order date is less we will charge the lower amount. If the product’s correct price at your order date is higher than the price stated to you, we will honour the price displayed on purchasing unless considerably higher.
How to pay. We accept all major credit and debit cards from Visa, and MasterCard. Your card will be debited at the point of checkout through our payment system.

5. Delivery
Costs. The costs of delivery will be as displayed to you on our shop platform at checkout for all deliveries within the UK (see Section 3 for international orders).
Shipping your order. During the order process, you will receive an email confirming successful payment and a second email when your order has been dispatched.
We are not responsible for delays outside our control. If our supply of the products is delayed by an event outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. Provided we do this we will not be liable for delays caused by the event, but if there is a risk of substantial delay you may contact us to end the contract and receive a refund for any products you have paid for but not received.
6. If you change your mind
If you have changed your mind about keeping your purchase, please contact us in writing by sending an e-mail to shop@wwt.org.uk within 30 days. The product must be in its original condition, and a copy of the original delivery note must be enclosed so that we can identify the order. We'll exchange or refund it, as long as it meets our terms and conditions.
By original Condition, we mean: You've kept all original packaging and labels in good condition and the product can be resold at full price.
What can't be returned:
These products can only be returned if they're faulty or not as described:
- Purchases made over 30 days ago.
- Items you've opened or unsealed, other than where necessary to inspect.
- Items without the original packaging or labels.
- Items or packaging in poor condition
- Food and beverage items or live plants and other perishables that have an expiry date.
- Products that can't be returned for hygiene reasons, such as earrings and beauty products that have been opened, used or don't have their seal intact.
- Discounted or sale items.
If you return products which are outside our returns policy or if you don't have proof of purchase, we're unable to process a refund or exchange, so please retain your receipt.
If you cancel your order before it is dispatched, we will refund all sums you have paid to us for that order (including delivery charges) within 30 days of you telling us you want to cancel.
b) If you want to cancel your order once you have received it, please contact us at shop@wwt.org.uk to arrange return of the product to us as soon as possible and not later than 30 days after your purchase. We will refund the purchase price and initial delivery charges (unless the returned item was part of a larger order, the rest of which has been accepted) within 30 days of receiving the product back.
7. If products are damaged, faulty or not as described
You have a legal right to return any item that does not match its description, is not fit for its intended purpose, or is not of satisfactory quality.
Returning Faulty Items
If your product develops a manufacturing fault within 30 days of purchase, please tell us by emailing shop@wwt.org.uk and we'll exchange or refund the item. You will need to return the item to us, for which we will cover the cost.
After 30 days, we'll repair or replace the product as per the terms of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- If you want a refund. We will refund all sums you have paid to us for that product including initial delivery charges (unless the returned item was part of a larger order, the rest of which has been accepted), once we receive the product back and agree there is a problem with it.
- If you want a replacement. If we have the relevant product in stock, we will supply a replacement once we receive the product back and agree there is a problem with it.
8. How to cancel or return an order
If you would like to cancel an order in accordance with these terms, you must contact us at shop@wwt.org.uk, providing us with details of your order to allow us to identify your purchase.
b) If you would like to return a product, please contact us in writing by sending an e-mail to shop@wwt.org.uk.
You may wish to keep a copy of your cancellation notification for your own records. In order to ensure the safe return of product/s we recommend that you obtain proof of posting from the post office. Please enclose a copy of the original delivery note so that we can identify the order.
We reserve the right to refuse to refund or exchange products that are returned to us that are not in a resaleable condition.
How You'll be refunded
You'll receive a refund by the same payment method used to make your purchase, please note card refunds can take up to 10 working days to reach the bank or card account. For items bought with gift cards, we'll exchange to the same or greater value and the difference can be paid by card.
Returning items given as gifts
You can return or exchange items given as gifts either in store or by contacting us at shop@wwt.org.uk and we will exchange them for items of the same or a greater value.
9. Our rights to end the contract
We may end the contract if you do not adhere to our terms and conditions in full. We may end the contract for a product at any time by writing to you if you do not, within a reasonable time, allow us or our delivery providers to deliver the products to you.
10. Our liability to you
The material displayed on our site is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy.
- We only supply products for domestic and private use. You agree not to use products ordered from our website for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose and we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
- We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss or damage you suffer that is caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen.
- We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for:
i. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
ii. any breach of your statutory rights of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (i.e. products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and match any description provided); or
iii. defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
To the extent permitted by law, we and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude any other loss or damage of any kind, however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise.
11. Your personal information
We will use the personal information you provide to us only:
i. to supply the products to you;
ii.to process your payment for the products;
iii. as otherwise set out in our Privacy Policy (please read this carefully); and
iv. in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
12. Other important terms
a) Nobody else has any rights under this contract. This contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
The only exception to this rule is that a product warranty on a product bought by you as a gift may be transferred to the recipient of your gift.
b) If a court finds part of this contract illegal, the rest will continue in force. Each of the paragraphs of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
c) Even if we delay in enforcing any of these terms, we can still enforce them later. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of any breach, it will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
d) Which laws apply to this contract and where you may bring legal proceedings. These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of these terms and the products in the English courts.
